O.K. Had a few ups and downs over the last couple of days.
We'll start with the downs because I always like to end on a happy note.
As you might remember I had Google site #3 up and pre-launched over the weekend. I was waiting for it to be indexed on Google before adding the finishing touches (an important part of the Google Sniper program). Sure enough on Monday morning I go to see if it was indexed and couldn't find the site at all! When I typed the url directly into Google it automatically went to an old website that I didn't even own the domain to anymore!
Naturally I called Godaddy who is my host to find out what the problem was and they said they couldn't figure out what the problem was either. All the woman could tell me was that it seemed I no longer had any files at all in my new domain and because it was less than 24 hours they didn't even have a back-up to send me.
Needless to say this did not make me happy. I had to start all over again, re-insert wordpress and other plug-ins, redesign the site to get it back to where I wanted and I lost some serious time. After doing a little research, I have found that Godaddy is probably not the best host for me to have. They suffer glitches fairly often, so after I get my initial goal of 10 sniper sites up I might switch over to BlueHost which Google Sniper recommends.
The Good news however is... Thank goodness I saved the posts in Notepad!! If I had to rewrite 4 posts from scratch I would have really been unhappy - so just as a reminder - ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR WORK - you never know what could happen.
So the other good news. Even though I had to start from scratch the site got indexed the same day! Which is awesome, so I still got the site fully launched on Monday anyway.
The other, other good news is that Google Sniper Site #1 made it to the first page of Google already! Yay! From zero to page 1 in seven days. Not too shabby.. No sales yet and it is still in the 11th spot on page 1...but I'm a "glass is half full" kind of gal..so I will stay positive and (do my best) to remain patient - though it is not easy.
Onto other news....While Site #3 has been indexed -- it is all the way down on page 21 of Google. I have a feeling this one might be a much harder climb to the top. I may have misjudged the keyword potency. While there are only 67 competitors using that "exact" term - which is a really low number - it ends up that there are a couple of thousand sites that have that term within their website. I am going to give it a day or two and see if it starts moving up on its own. If not, I will go back in and tweak it with some other keywords to see if I could nudge it up the Google Ladder.
Ehow Earnings Update
Not so good on the Ehow front. Earnings still running low and as of now I might even make less than I did last month which is surprising to me. They haven't gotten back to me yet on the "plagiarism" issue either which is getting a little annoying. It's bad enough to even say that word to a writer - let alone leave them hanging without an explanation. But patience is a virtue...sigh...
Discovered Something New
Found a new interesting idea today....It is a Wordpress Amazon Store Plug In to build your own Amazon store around keyword phrases.
This is basically how it works. Say you find out that Little Tikes Kitchen is going to be the hot item this Christmas you can use this wordpress plugin and build a quick store that features every Little Tikes Kitchen that Amazon offers in just a few simple steps. Here is an example of what it will look like
Combined with the Micro Niche Finder to determine which keywords have low competition (or even using the free Google keyword search) you simply purchase the domain with those keywords in it - run your wordpress plug in and set up your own quick site. Could make for some extra income, especially around the Holiday season.
I may give it a shot in a couple of weeks, but right now I want to stay focused on my Google Sniper goal of getting at least 10 sites done. I've made the mistake before of bouncing all over with different ideas I've come across, so this time I am determined to remain focused.
If you want to check it out for yourself simply go to Wordpress and type in "Amazon Niche Store"
Moving Forward
Got a little behind in creating Sniper Site #4 and there is a good chance I will only be able to work on it a little while today (you know....that "real life" thing is getting in the way again) but I am determined to have it at least pre-launched by tomorrow afternoon. Until then....Happy Earnings!
