About Me

Hi,

My name is Janeen and I am a stay at home Mom.

I am writing this blog to not only share my trials and tribulations while trying to earn money online, but also as a way to help keep me on track towards my goals.

While my audience may end up being small, I will definitely be inspired to keep plugging away knowing that I have to post my progress every few days and will be horribly embarrassed to continually say that I goofed off and got nothing accomplished.

In case you are interested, here is a little background information on me.

I worked in Manhattan for over 15 years as a Benefits Administrator for a fairly large wall street firm. I left the city a little over 10 years ago when my son was born. It was an agreement between my husband and myself that we both wanted me to stay home to raise him, though at times I admit, it got pretty rough financially (and still does occasionally).

A few months after my son was born, I started selling on Ebay. My specialty was toys, because…well… a part of me has never grown up and I have just always loved them :). Anyway, I was fairly successful on Ebay and was pretty much earning almost a full time salary within a year and a half.

While it was a lot of work, Ebay was a big help in getting the bills paid and I continued to be successful for almost 7 years.

Then, due to many policy changes at Ebay, as well as the dip in the economy, I discovered that the well was drying up and it was time to move on.

My next move was to build a website on the Law of Attraction because it is something I strongly believe in and loved writing about. (Just to let you know however, it is not the sappy version of the Law as depicted in The Secret where all you need to do is wish it and your dreams will come true. It is based on realistically setting goals and finding your way around problems. It is about believing in yourself and looking for the positives that come from the negatives and never giving up.)

Anyway, the site suffered a little setback when I accidentally let the .com expire because I had changed credit cards and didn’t realize the annual fees were due. Someone else snatched it up. Luckily, I had backed up most of my work and reworked it into a blog.

While I love working on the site, the truth is it was not much of a money maker. I know a lot of it has to do with the site design which I desperately need to rework, but the fact is the subject matter itself is just not popular enough to bring in a lot of traffic.

Hopefully in time as I keep learning, I will find a way to make it more profitable. In the meantime however, I needed to find other ways to continue making money from home, so I moved on to article writing.

Writing Articles

There is a lot of potential to make money writing articles online and it is something I continue to do. It is also one of the things I will keep track of on this blog. It does however, also require a lot of patience.

I currently write for Associated Content, Helium and Ehow. I have also dabbled in Squidoo, Bukisa and Gather.

I have found that each site has its own set of benefits and drawbacks which will be covered in more detail in my blog. As a quick note however, I have found that Ehow seems to have the most potential.

Going Forward

While I will continue to write articles, I am also moving onto to a new venture that seems to have a lot of potential and that is building Google Sniper sites.

Today is October 13, 2009 and the newest version of Google Sniper is set to be released in 2 days. I have done a lot of research on the previous versions of this product that have been released and it seems like the real deal and the reason why I have started this blog.

I figured I would take others on my journey as I begin this new adventure. I have a feeling it will be very entertaining for us all as I stumble along learning how to master this new program.

So please check back often to watch my progress. Like I said before, with you looking on I will feel more determined to not slack off. Also please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions if you see me screwing up. I love and welcome good advice.

Oh and by the way, the best of luck in your own ventures! We’re all in this together.

Sincerely,
Janeen
